The Spice Girls star looked elated after leaving St Paul’s Cathedral where she married hairdresser Rory McPhee
Mel B and her new husband Rory McPhee looked loved up as they shared a kiss on the steps of St Paul’s Cathedral following their wedding. The couple, who got engaged in October 2022, tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony in central London today (July 5).
The happy couple posed for pictures on the steps of the historic venue and shared a kiss before heading to their reception at The Shard.
Spice Girls star Mel, 50, also known as Scary Spice, wore a traditional white gown embellished with scattered pearls, while her husband Rory, 37, donned a traditional Scottish tartan kilt.
Mel and Rory began dating in 2018 and got engaged four years later. Rory is a “family friend” of Mel’s cousin, Christian Cooke, with the pair having gone to school together.

Speaking about the proposal, Rory previously told HELLO! Magazine: “I was so nervous, my lips were trembling. I’d spent ages writing down all these things I wanted to say, but when it came to it, I just babbled.”
Mel responded: “Oh no, it was lovely, what you said. He told me he loved me, that I was his best friend and that he wanted to be with me for the rest of our lives.”
It is the third time Mel B has been married, as she was previously married to Jimmy Gulzar between 1998 and 2000 and Stephen Belafonte from 2007 to 2016.
Fellow Spice Girls star Emma Bunton was among celebrities to attend the wedding of her former bandmate.
Baby Spice was the only Spice Girl in attendance, accompanied by husband Jade Jones and their son Beau, 17.
Although there was no sign of Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell and Melanie Chisholm, Posh Spice shared a public message to Mel B and her husband on Instagram.
She wrote: “Congratulations @officialmelb and @rorymcphee on your special day! I couldn’t be more excited for you both and wish you a lifetime of happiness! Kisses xx.”
She also shared a photo of herself and Mel B at an event together and captioned it, “Sending you love @officialmelb. @rorymcphee is a very lucky man!”
Other celebrities who witnessed the wedding included pregnant comedian Katherine Ryan and comedians Tom Allen, Alan Carr and Celebrity Big Brother star Angellica Bell.
Mel’s children Phoenix Chi, Madison and Angel Iris all attended the ceremony.
Ahead of the wedding Mel B worked closely with Evelie bridal and Josephine Scott to design her luxury bridal gown.
Caroline Black, owner of Evelie Bridal, told the PA news agency: “For her look at St Paul’s Cathedral, Melanie B wanted a bespoke gown that embodies strength, sensuality, and timeless glamour.”
The dress has been described by Black as a “luxury georgette crepe gown with a sculpted corset bodice” which features “intricate draping that hugs the silhouette and flows into a dramatic, sweeping train”.
It also has a “sheer illusion detachable jacket, hand-embellished with pearl constellations” which has been described as creating a high neck, long-sleeve effect that frames her shoulders and adds “ethereal elegance to complement the ceremony and honour St Paul’s etiquette”.
Speaking about the process of styling Mel B for her wedding day, Black described it as “an honour” and “nothing short of extraordinary”.
She said: “Helping a real Spice Girl choose her wedding dress—what could possibly top that? But what’s truly made this experience so meaningful is getting to know Mel as just Mel, not the icon, but the woman. It’s been such an honour.”
Scott added: “Designing this gown for Mel was about capturing her fearless spirit and softness all in one look. She’s iconic, powerful, and radiant — and this dress had to be worthy of that.
“Every detail was chosen to honour her strength and sensuality, while celebrating the woman and the love story beneath the girl power.”
